Round 7 v Blue Mountains & Radford Cup Final

Round 7 v Blue Mountains

After enjoying a bye over the long weekend, Colleagues will play host to Division 1 new boys Blue Moutains tomorrow.

Blue Mountains have made a strong start to the season, featuring in the top 4 of Kentwell, Burke and Whiddon Cup.

Meanwhile, Colleagues is coming off a confidence-boosting Blue RInse at Balmain two weeks ago as we continue to build into the season at the halfway mark.

With the European summer and Uni exams in full swing, there are a number of new faces making their debuts up the grades this week, as well as some returning club legends.

Joe Sangster makes his starting return to Kentwell after showing impressive form in Burke since overcoming a long-term injury.

Among those joining him are Alex Hamilton and Justin Stewart, who are the latest graduates from Ed Nankivell’s colts factory to make their debut in the top grade this year.

In Burke Cup, Will Crutchley makes a welcome return to the second row while dashing young colt Jack Ridley is also stepping up from Barbour Cup to take his spot on the wing.

Whiddon, Judd and Sutherland also feature a number of new faces and we wish all the boys good luck on what is set to be a cracking day of footy at BGS.

Radford Cup Final

Colleagues’ 3 colts sides have been among the top performers each week over the first couple of months of the season.

This weekend sees the conclusion of the Radford Cup competition, which has featured our Radford I and Radford II sides.

Due to a quirk of the draw, the Colleagues sides played two less games than their opponents yet both managed to qualify 3rd and 4th respectively.

The end result is Radford I will face off against Mosman at 6:30pm this coming Saturday night in the Plate Final.

The boys will be out to prove they deserved their rightful place in the major final as they head over the bridge to face a tough Mosman side in front of a large home crowd.

Any support from across the grades would be much appreciated as we look to secure our first silverware for the year!
