Knock Out Rugby for Colleagues

Do or Die for Colleagues at Prelim Semi

All but one Colleagues grade teams have survived to fight another day at tomorrow’s Preliminary Semi Final at the David Phillips Field in Daceyville. Unfortunately Colleagues Burke Cup bowed out on the ‘win differential’ rule after a 15 all draw with Petersham last Saturday. It was a mixed day for the rest of the Blue Giants sides with our Kentwell and Judd Cup sides got up over Mosman and St Pats respectively in their Minor Semi Final matches, while Whiddon and Sutherland went down to Petersham and Mosman in their Major Semi Finals.

Tomorrow the Kentwell Cup lads will take on Drummoyne who went undefeated through the first rounds of the competition this year, but have since dropped the ball, losing their last three matches of the regular season. The other tough match for the Blue Giants will be in the Judd Cup against Mosman. Rumours have it that the Whales Judd Cup side is a rekindled Shore 1st XV side from the mid 2000s with many players having spent time playing decent grade rugby in Subbies and the Premiership.
