Old Colleagues News – March 2017 and Long Lunch Update

LONG LUNCH FRIDAY 28TH APRIL

Long Lunch (now known as Blue Giant’s Day) is Friday 28th April 2017

Long Lunch (Blue Giant’s Day) is coming up fast. Take out Easter and its just a month away to booking deadline. (Friday 21st April).

Old Colleague (1980’s flashy hooker/ back rower) Laurie Coy (now star of stage and screen Laurie featured in the usa movie SAN ANDREAS) takes the mic and is our MC for the afternoon which will feature “Two blokes who locked horns” Rugby Internationals Phil Waugh & our own Dave Croft. This is definitely a recipe for a few laughs and some insights into the great game of rugby.

Big thank you for our Blue Giant’s Day sponsor SV Partners

NEW SCORE BOARD

Old Colleagues will not believe it but the State Government and thanks to local member Gabrielle Upton have given the Club a grant for a new electronic score board to go on the club house. Great work by the Club executive to manage the paperwork and Old Colleagues will now be able to see the points mount up through the beer haze late on a Saturday ! Whats the score ?

On the balcony maybe a question from the past!

“The Turk is on the move”

Old Colleague Andrew “Turkey” France has sold his very salubrious pad at Kyeemah (with the help of Old Colleague Hugh Macfarlane, Raine and Horne Willoughby) and is moving to Coffs Harbour. You can wish him all the best and book your stay using this email   AndyFrance1@msn.com

He has assured me he will be back for a Grand Final beer as there hasn’t been many he’s missed.

Newport Breakers welcome Blue Giants

Old Colleague Heath Radel sends greeting to those Old Colleagues living by the northern beaches. Heath who is the Newport Breakers president would be happy to show Colleagues some Newport hospitality on game days during the season,

He is also on the lookout for any players, coaches or managers living north side who want to get involved in rugby again and give a hand at the breakers.

(careful this could bring back those old 1980’s memories of a miniature change room with a bonus cold shower)
